When VicHealth approached us to print their ‘Organisational Strategy’ booklet, which maps out their 10-year plan, we knew we had to deliver something special. They wanted a booklet that was not only sustainable but also exuded a premium feel. Mission accepted.
 

THE CHALLENGE

VicHealth had three main requirements: sustainability, premium quality, and durability. They wanted every component of the booklet to be environmentally friendly, yet still look and feel top-notch.
 

THE SOLUTION

We decided to use ecoStar+ paper, a specialist paper that ticked all the right boxes. ecoStar+ is carbon neutral, FSC recycled certified, and made from 100% post-consumer recycled fiber in a chlorine-free process under the ISO 14001 environmental management system. In short, it’s about as green as you can get.
 
Instead of defaulting to a PVC-based matte cello laminate, we suggested a new biodegradable option to align with the rest of the environmental credentials.
 

HOW WE DID IT

Cover: We chose 300gsm EcoStar, a 100% recycled uncoated paper for the cover. It’s sturdy and has a great feel.
 
Coating: Instead of defaulting to a PVC-based matte cello laminate, we suggested a new biodegradable option to align with the rest of the environmental credentials. We used a biodegradable matte cello laminate for the outer cover, ensuring durability without compromising on our eco-friendly promise.
 
Text: For the inner pages, we went with 135gsm EcoStar 100% recycled uncoated paper. It’s light yet durable.
 
Binding: We opted for PUR binding to give the booklet a professional and polished look.

THE RESULT

A book that’s 100% environmentally friendly and looks fantastic. It has a premium feel that VicHealth was after, and it’s built to last. The biodegradable matte laminate on the outer cover was a particularly unique touch, ensuring durability without any negative environmental impact.
